"Between Love & Goodbye" had the fouth highest per-screen-average of all films playing in U.S. theaters this past weekend

(February 3, 2009 - New York, NY) Between Love & Goodbye pulled in an impressive $6,674  during its opening weekend on only one screen at New York's Clearview Cinemas Chelsea. With only one film in wide release, and two films in limited release with a higher per-screen-average, Between Love & Goodbye ranked fouth on the per-screen-average boxoffice chart.

Writer/director/producer Casper Andreas, who is also handling the film's distribution through his company Embrem Entertainment, is very happy with the film's opening. "There are a lot of wonderful movies playing in theaters at this time of year so we knew it would be tough to get audiences to find our little film," says Andreas. "I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who made it out and supported the film this past weekend. Thank you!"

Between Love & Goodbye's numbers are especailly impressive considering the film opened on a split screen. With multiple Academy Award-nominated movies performing extremely well at the Clearview, the theater gave Embrem Entertainment the option of opening the film on a split screen or have their release date pushed. "With all of our marketing efforts focused on a January 30th opening date, we just didn't feel moving to a different week would benefit us," explains Embrem's marketing director Adam Bentley, who also wants to thank the local gay press for its support of the film. "Without the marketing budget to buy expensive TV commericals or billboards, we have to rely on the power of the community and grassroots outreach, and we are most grateful towards everyone who has helped us get the word out about the film's opening."

With its limited engagement run at the Clearview ending this Thursday, Andreas would like to encourage everyone in New York who has yet to see the film to hurry out to do so. He and several of his cast members are planning to attend the 7.15PM screening Thursday evening for a  Q&A session. "We might even throw another party!" jests Andreas who with the support of V2 vodka hosted several events at XES Lounge in NYC in connection with the film's opening.

Between Love & Goodbye is set to open in Los Angeles on March 6th at the Sunset 5 Laemmle Theater. The film is also playing many festivals both around the country and internationally in the months to come. Screening information is continously being updated on the film's websitewww.lovegoodbye.com.

Between Love & Goodbye tells the story about Marcel (Justin Tensen) and Kyle (Simon Miller) and their passionate relationship. Set to an original soundtrack, Between Love & Goodbye is filled with unqualified romance, hilarious situations, and plenty of low down and dirty drama.

Some highlights from the film's many reviews:

'Between Love & Goodbye' effectively captures what brings two men together and eventually drags them apart. The cast is beautiful, the city of New York is a fitting backdrop and the underlying premise rings with honesty. David Graver, HX Magazine.

Andreas has made an absorbing film that should have audiences thinking about its characters and their turmoil long after the credits roll.  Gary M. Kramer, Gay City News.

If you want your drama juicy and your boys twinky, 'Between Love & Goodbye' delivers the delectable goods. Aaron Coleman, Next Magazine.
