Casper Andreas' film "Between Love & Goodbye" to open theatrically Jan 30, 2009. DVD release to follow

(Dec 19, 2008 - New York, NY) Embrem Entertainment, the New York based independent film production and distribution company, is releasing its third feature film, "Between Love & Goodbye" in US theaters in early 2009. The limited theatrical release will kick off in New York with an opening at Clearview Cinemas Chelsea on Jan 30th.
"Between Love & Goodbye" is the latest feature from multi-award winning writer/director Casper Andreas, who also produced the film together with Markus Goetze. The drama, about a gay couple dealing with falling in and out of love, was shot on location in New York in 2007, and has enjoyed a successful festival run since its premiere in May 2008, at the Pink Apple Film Festival in Zurich.

Andreas, a recent Out 100 Honoree, is thrilled to once again open a film exclusively at the Clearview in Chelsea. "We had a great opening and an amazing run of my second feature "A Four Letter Word" at the same theater earlier this year," he says. "My hope is that "Between Love & Goodbye" will prove itself to be equally successful."

This absorbing story begins with Marcel (Justin Tensen), a French actor living in New York, marrying his lesbian friend Sarah (Jane Elliott) so he can stay in the US with his boyfriend Kyle (Simon Miller). When Kyle's transgender sister April (Rob Harmon) appears, however, she asserts control over her brother's life without masking her contempt for Marcel.

Referring to "Between Love & Goodbye" as his 'European film,' Swedish-born Andreas is well aware that this 'alternative family drama' is a big departure from his earlier work. A review in Variety of the film states: "Helmer-scripter Casper Andreas, whose previous credits adhered firmly and flamboyantly to the comedic, seems to have hit his stride with the operatic excesses of melodrama".

The DVD of the film is being released by Embrem together with TLA Releasing in the late Spring of 2009. Broadcast rights have been picked up by LOGO Network.

Embrem Entertainment was launched by Andreas in 2004. The company's previous films include his romantic comedies "Slutty Summer" and "A Four Letter Word". Embrem was the theatrical distributor of "Slutty Summer" in 2005, and of "A Four Letter Word" in 2008.

Embrem Entertainment Announces DVD Release Date of A FOUR LETTER WORD: August 19

Embrem to release DVD in Partnership with TLA Releasing
(New York, NY - June 30, 2008) Embrem Entertainment has announced the DVD release date of its award-winning box office hit, A FOUR LETTER WORD: Tuesday, August 19, 2008, with a pre-book date of July 22.

Embrem will release DVD of the gay romantic comedy, directed by Casper Andreas and starring Jesse Archer and Charlie David, in partnership with TLA Releasing, distributor of Andreas' earlier hit the romantic comedy SLUTTY SUMMER.

Among the planned DVD extras are commentary by co-writer/director Andreas and co-writer/star Archer, a behind-the-scenes featurette, interviews with Andreas and cast members, "Faggotty Attention" music video, "Is Mace Gay?" documentary spoof, theatrical trailer and more.

Filled with razor-sharp one-liners and plenty of eye candy, A FOUR LETTER WORD follows a group of friends in New York's Chelsea gayborhood, led by Luke (Jesse Archer), a charming, promiscuous "gay cliché" who works in a Chelsea sex shop. Then Luke falls hard for macho man Stephen (Charlie David) and considers giving monogamy a chance. But everything is not as it seems, and Luke realizes that being true to oneself may be the best way to deal with some four-letter words, like love.

Currently in the eleventh week of its national theatrical release, A FOUR LETTER WORD has played in fifteen major markets across the country, beginning with an extended three-week run in New York, followed by Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Fort Lauderdale, Boston, San Francisco, Austin, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Miami, Atlanta, Tuscon, and currently in Portland.

The film has played in nearly sixty film festivals around the world, with over a dozen premium Opening Night, Closing Night and Centerpiece or Spotlight Screening billings. Among its awards are:

- The Grand Jury Award for Outstanding Screenwriting at Outfest: Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival;
- Best Gay Feature Film at Q Cinema: Fort Worth Gay and Lesbian Film Festival;
- Audience Award for Best Film at the Fire Island Film Festival;
- Best Ensemble Cast at Festival del Sol in Gran Canaria, Spain;
- Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress (Virginia Bryan) at FilmOut San Diego.

Casper Andreas' third feature film "Between Love & Goodbye" to premier at film festivals this month

(May 2, 2008 - New York, NY) Between Love & Goodbye, the latest feature film from award-winning writer/director Casper Andreas, will have its world premiere at The Pink Apple Film Festival in Zurich, Switzerland on May 3rd. The film is playing twice over the weekend and the screenings will be followed by a Q&A with the director.

"I am thrilled to premiere Between Love & Goodbye at the Pink Apple," says Andreas. "The festival has always been very supportive of my work. Though Between Love & Goodbye in many ways is a very New York film, it has also been described as a very European film and I hope the Swiss audiences will enjoy it."

Roland Loosli, programming director of The Pink Apple Film Festival, certainly believe they will. "Between Love & Goodbye fascinates with its fantastic original soundtrack and its talented and sexy actors", Loosli says. "The Pink Apple Film Festival is proud to present Andreas' magnificent new film as a world premiere!"

Upcoming festivals for the film include The Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival, where Between Love & Goodbye will be the Centerpiece Film on May 24th. The East Coast Premiere will be held early June at New York's Gay & Lesbian Film Festival NewFest.

Between Love & Goodbye is Andreas' first feature drama. Previous films include the romantic comedies Slutty Summer and A Four Letter Word (currently in theaters).

Between Love & Goodbye tells the story of Kyle (Simon Miller) and Marcel (Justin Tensen), and their rocky relationship. The feature also stars Rob Harmon and Jane Elliott. Shot on location in New York in September of 2007, Between Love & Goodbye was produced by Casper Andreas and Markus Goetze.

"A FOUR LETTER WORD" took in $12,101 on one screen in New York over the weekend

(April 2, 2008 - New York, NY)  Embrem Entertainment's release of "A Four Letter Word" (US, 2007, 87 min) is off to an incredible start. Playing exclusively in New York at Clearview Chelsea Cinemas, the gay romantic comedy that opened last Friday took in $12,101 over the weekend, giving the film the third highest per-screen-average of all films currently in release in the United States. It was the highest grossing film at the Chelsea Theater.

"A Four Letter Word" received several rave reviews, including one from the New York Times that says the film 'coasts on a good-natured raunchiness' and describes it as 'an endearing romantic comedy that explores gay relationships with low-budget verve.'
TVGuide.com says the film 'manages to say something smart about gay stereotypes, both in and outside the insular gay community.'

"I am thrilled about our opening numbers" says director Casper Andreas who, together with his team, has worked hard to get the word out about the film. "This proves that gay people are still interested in seeing themselves represented on the big screen."

"A Four Letter Word" is being self-released by the filmmakers, and without the marketing budget to buy expensive TV commericals or billboards, they have to rely on the power of the community and grassroots outreach.

Andreas hopes to keep the momentum going.

"I want to encourage eveyone who likes to see an alternative to the usual Hollywood fare to come out and check out the film. And those who already did -- please tell your friends to go and see it!"
"A Four Letter Word" will play exclusivley at Chelsea Cinemas for a second week. On April 11, the film opens at Sunset 5 in Los Angles, and at the Palme D'Or in Palm Springs. Andreas and the film's stars will be present at the 7.40 PM screening at Sunset 5 on April 12 for a Q&A, that will be followed by an opening weekend party at Here Lounge in West Hollywood. On Sunday April 13 they will be at the 6 PM screening in Palm Springs for a Q&A. Opening weekend party at Tropicale to follow.

In addition, the film is opening at the Gateway Theater in Fort Lauderdale on May 9th and Cinestudio in Hartford on May 23rd.  More cities to be added soon.
